Prepare the ingredients
Wash the rosemary and ginger thoroughly. Slice the ginger into thin pieces.
If using fresh turmeric instead of turmeric powder, peel a small piece and slice it thinly.
2. Heat the water
Pour 2 cups of water into a small saucepan and bring it to a gentle boil.
3. Add the herbs and spices
Add the rosemary, ginger, turmeric, and cinnamon stick to the hot water.
Reduce the heat and allow everything to simmer gently for 8–10 minutes.
4. Let it steep
Turn off the heat, cover the saucepan, and allow the infusion to sit for another 5 minutes. This gives the herbs and spices time to release their flavor.
5. Strain
Pour the infusion through a fine strainer into a cup or teapot, removing the rosemary, ginger, and cinnamon.
6. Add lemon or honey
Once the tea has cooled slightly, add a teaspoon of fresh lemon juice if you like a brighter flavor.
For sweetness, add a small amount of honey. If you’re watching your blood sugar, you can simply leave out the honey.
7. Serve
Enjoy the infusion warm and freshly prepared.
Helpful Tips
For a stronger ginger flavor, add an extra slice or two. For a milder drink, reduce the rosemary.
You can prepare a larger batch and refrigerate it in a covered container, then gently reheat a serving when desired.
