Ingredients :
– 1 pound ground beef or thinly sliced steak
– 1 onion, diced
– 1 green bell pepper, diced
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 cup beef broth
– 1/4 cup ketchup
– 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
– 1 tablespoon soy sauce
– Salt and pepper to taste
– 4 to 6 slices provolone cheese
– 4 to 6 hamburger buns
Préparations :
1. **Cook the Meat**: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef or thinly sliced steak over medium heat until browned. If using steak, ensure it’s cooked through. Drain any excess grease.
2. **Add Aromatics**: Add diced onion, diced green bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet with the cooked meat. Cook for about 5 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender.
3. **Sauce**: Pour in beef broth, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce. Stir well to combine. Simmer the ingredients for ten minutes or so, or until the sauce has somewhat thickened. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
4. **Toast the Buns**: While the mixture is simmering, lightly toast the hamburger buns either in a toaster or in the oven.
5. **Assemble**: Once the sauce has thickened, spoon the Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joe mixture onto the bottom half of each toasted bun. Top each with a slice of provolone cheese.
6. **Melt the Cheese**: Place the assembled sandwiches under the broiler for a minute or two, just until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
7. **Serve**: Remove from the oven and place the top half of the toasted bun on each sandwich. Serve hot and enjoy your Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes!
