Ingredients :
- 4 slices of bologna (thick cut preferred)
- 3 slices of bread (white or your choice)
- 2 tablespoons of butter or margarine
- 3 slices of cheese (American, cheddar, or your choice)
- Mustard and/or mayonnaise (optional)
- Lettuce, tomato, and pickles (optional)
Préparations :
- Prepare the Bologna:
- Use a knife to make 2-3 small cuts around the edges of each slice of bologna. This prevents the bologna from curling up too much while frying.
- Fry the Bologna:
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Add a small amount of butter or margarine to the skillet.
- Once the butter is melted and the skillet is hot, add the bologna slices.
- Fry the bologna slices for about 2-3 minutes on each side, until they are browned and slightly crispy. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- Toast the Bread:
- In the same skillet, add more butter if needed and toast the bread slices until golden brown. You can toast one side or both sides according to your preference.
- Assemble the Sandwich:
- Place a slice of cheese on one piece of toasted bread.
- Add the fried bologna on top of the cheese.
- If using, spread mustard and/or mayonnaise on the other piece of bread.
- Optionally, add lettuce, tomato, and pickles.
- Top the sandwich with the second piece of bread.
- Serve:
- Serve the sandwich warm and enjoy!
