Ingredients
For the custard:
- 2 cups (500 ml) whole milk
- 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
- 4 large eggs
- ½ cup (100 g) sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
For the crumble topping:
- 1 cup crushed biscuits (like digestive or graham crackers)
- 3 tbsp melted butter
- 2 tbsp brown sugar

1. Prepare the custard
- Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).
- In a saucepan, gently heat milk + cream until warm (not boiling).
- In a bowl, whisk eggs, sugar, vanilla, and salt.
- Slowly pour warm milk into the egg mixture while whisking (to avoid scrambling).
2. Assemble
- Pour the custard into a greased baking dish.
- Mix crushed biscuits, melted butter, and brown sugar.
- Sprinkle evenly over the top.
3. Bake
- Place dish in a larger pan and add hot water halfway up the sides (water bath).
- Bake for 40–50 minutes, until set but slightly jiggly in the center.
4. Cool & serve
- Let cool slightly (or chill for a firmer texture).
- Scoop and enjoy warm or cold!
