Garlic Beef Fried Rice

Ingredients:For the Beef: 1/2 lb (225g) beef sirloin or steak, cubed1 tbsp soy sauce1 tsp cornstarch1/2 tsp sesame oilPinch of black pepperFor the Fried Rice: 2 cups cooked jasmine rice (cold, preferably day-old)2 tbsp vegetable oil2 cloves garlic, minced1/4 cup soy sauce1 tbsp oyster sauce1 tsp sugar1/2 cup green onions, chopped (reserve some for garnish)Instructions: Marinate the Beef:In a bowl, mix soy sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, and black pepper.Add the beef cubes, coat well, and let it marinate for 15-20 minutes. Prepare the Sauce:In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar. Set aside. Cook the Beef:Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside. Stir-Fry the Garlic and Rice:Add the remaining 1 tbsp of oil to the skillet.Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (30 seconds).Add the cooked rice, breaking up any clumps, and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes. Combine:Pour the prepared sauce over the rice and mix well.Add the cooked beef back into the skillet and stir to combine.Toss in the chopped green onions and cook for 1 more minute.Serve:Garnish with extra green onions.Serve hot and enjoy!
